Fresh Paint Magazine

After posting photography of graffiti on Instagram since June 2017, decided to put together a magazine, which I am very excited about. I reached a point where I didn't want this to only be an Instagram account and wanted it to become something bigger. Started off as a photography magazine only and then when completed around 129 pages, felt it lacked substance, lacked a more important reason to give people to want to actually consume the magazine. You could look through my sites liveliveco.com or freshpaintphotograpy.smugmug or my Instagram @freshpaint.photography just for pics and there is a lot of them. So decided to do more. I wanted this issue to be special. I wanted my first issue to not disappoint and truly stand out. My intention is to not make another typical graffiti magazine or a typical magazine in general. I have put so much time and effort into taking pics, editing pics and then posting to reach as many people as possible. I have spent a lot of time getting to know people, understand their world, their life and what graffiti means to them. To many it's vandalism and a grungy underworld, to me it's art, it's bold, it's raw and what I've learned is, it's not for the weak. I have conducted interviews/conversations with the top writers in this city and their different perspectives and my experiences hanging out with them has been a true eye opener. This magazine provides a look inside the culture, the lifestyle and the art. Set out as a photographer and now have become a journalist, which is nuts because I definitely don't consider myself as a journalist. I am learning and winging it as I go, but sometimes that is the best way to go about things. I am excited about this issue and I think you will truly enjoy it.

Having to edit the size of the magazine, you can expect around 80 pages of straight street graffiti and interviews by the top writers in the city. The full list of interviews conducted will be announced at a later date. I do have a timeline I am keeping to, but want to get this right and have a few more interviews to conduct and get added in. Fresh Paint Magazine, Vol 1. Street Issue coming soon, real soon.
