Get Up

Dallas graffiti writer's pieces around the city of Dallas shown through professional photography. This is street art in its rawest form with writers getting their name out there in all different places from walls, to underpasses, to billboards, to buses, to dumpsters, to bridges and so much more and all in the name of fame for exposure telling the city who they are. And yes, all photos are original and shot by one lone photographer who hits the city seeking out all the graffiti in Dallas possible

"Damn, they're getting up"

AREA 51

humor graffiti

Humor might be working towards being the new king of Dallas. He is a humble dude and doesn't act like that, but the amount he is getting up and his style is definitely proving something. Humor also has a lot of respect and knowledge for Dallas graffiti and just graff in general. From just a photographer standpoint have really admired seeing his work progress. He is always advancing and is taking his crew with him. The spotlight on Humor is not meant to take away from the crew. A51 was started by Mahem and Humor's skills were advanced by having his crew around him. The crew works well together and they all push themselves to get better and try new styles. Having hung out with most of the crew, they are all down to earth and just love to paint. It's not an attitude thing for them, it's just a way of life.

DEBT

Debt is one of those writers that knows what he is doing. Having been in the scene of Dallas graffiti for some time now, he has the ins and outs down. Also another super humble and good guy to be around. You can tell he has an addiction to painting and likes to paint with pretty much anyone that is down and can keep up with him. His style is wild, not wildstyle just a style you likely haven't scene anywhere else, which makes and keeps him unique. Because of that billboard spot Humor hit above, is actually how I came to know Debt and I am glad I did. The other cool thing about Debt, is that a lot of writers in Dallas are younger and have looked up to Debt for a long time. Debt doesn't want to be known as one of those artists that fell off so he stays active. He has paved the way in a sense that he knows how to continue to be active in graffiti without being a dick to people or property he hits. Most of his spots are on places that no on gives a shit about and no one prominent owns, while still being visible to the city of Dallas.

DEBT & TOMB

tomb and debt graffiti

Debt recently started painting with Tomb and helped Tomb elevate his game by going bigger and badder. Tomb is a great guy to hang with, we always have awesome conversations. The shot to the left is when we went to their rooftop for his interview in Issue #1 and the duo made the cover of the first issue of FRESHPAINT Magazine as well since the spot they caught was my favorite of the year.

SOUR

Sour likes to fuck shit up. If you picked up Issue #1 of the FRESHPAINT Magazine, her section was titled "Fuck Shit Up with Sour". And this describes her pretty damn well. And yes she is a female graffiti writer and proud of it. Just because she is a female, doesn't mean she can't hang with the dudes and in many ways she can go bigger than the dudes. The other part that is dope about Sour is that this is not just a trend for her to follow. She is a graffiti artist through and through. When she travels, she paints. When she is in Dallas, she paints. Another humble soul, Sour just likes to paint and doesn't have a big head about it. And she has everyone's attention and respect. People around the city, especially in the graff scene here in Dallas, recognize Sour as one of the top players.

DONE

This dude Done was introduced in the magazine as crazy young gun Done. He only pretty much has one rule and that's to not paint churches. Other than that, he paints it. Me and him are cool and have become friends, but he's definitely got some haters out there
